Interjurisdictional fisheries enforcement

Time expenditures for the Inerjurisdictional fisheries Enforcement Project by the Marine Enforcement Unit increased 590 hours over the 1991/92 figures to a total of 1,671 hours. Summer flounder, surf clam, lobster and scallop enforcement lead the way with lesser amounts of time being utilized on winter flounder, scallop and tuna regulations. The cooperative effort between the State of New Jersey, National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) and the United states Coast Guard was once again effective. The Coast Guard provided helicopter and boat support, while NMFS personnel and New Jersey Conservation officers provided training and resource enforcement expertise. Grant no. NA16FI0223
