Suppression of ER stress reverses hind-limb unloading-induced cardiac metabolic dysfunction and ECM activation

Prolonged bed rest or microgravity exposure, as experienced during spaceflight, adverselyaffects cardiac health.Our findings indicate that prolonged bed rest or microgravity exposure triggers mitochondrial dysfunction and activates ECM pathways in the heart and ER stress attenuationmitigates these detrimental cellular effects.
