The Survey on Data on Academic Activities Maintaining

The goal of the survey is to figure out how researchers maintain their academic activities and what tools they use for this purpose. The survey was sent via email to researchers already having some publications in Scopus database. The data was collected in the first quarter of 2012, exported from Survey Monkey and presented in two files: a short summary of 4,264 responses and figures with all the comments. The survey compared the activities collected in personal records and institutional databases. Respondents were asked about important qualities in an author ID system, time which they spend compiling the list of their activities, etc. Please find some of the findings below: Eighty-six percent of respondents indicate that they keep a record of their academic activity on their own initiative; Ninety-two percent of respondents indicate that they have searched on the Internet for information on activities of other researchers; however, only eighty percent of them believe that the complete list of their research activities which is publicly accessible can improve their public awareness.
