Urban Heat Island Afternoon Traverse

This dataset contains data points along designated routes and captured near-surface air temperature on the afternoon (3-4pm CST) on July 27, 2024. Traverse points were gathered by community volunteers and distributed by CAPA Strategies to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Urban Heat Island Mapping Campaign. t_f = temperature in Fahrenheit rh = relative humidity hi_f = heat index* in Fahrenheit *Heat index is an approximation of the heat felt when the presence of humidity is felt in combination with temperature. For this project, the heat index was calculated by combining the temperature with the corresponding relative humidity measurement using the same equations as advised by the National Weather Service (CAPA Strategies, 9/2024)本数据集包含沿指定路线采集的近地表气温数据，采集时段为2024年7月27日下午（CST时间15:00-16:00）。本次遍历采样点位由社区志愿者采集，并由CAPA Strategies发布，用于支持美国国家海洋和大气管理局（National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration）的城市热岛制图项目。 字段定义如下： - t_f：以华氏度（Fahrenheit）为单位的气温 - rh：相对湿度（relative humidity） - hi_f：以华氏度为单位的酷热指数（heat index） *注：酷热指数是综合气温与湿度后，人体实际感知的体感温度近似值。本项目中，酷热指数通过结合气温与对应相对湿度数据，采用美国国家气象局（National Weather Service）推荐的计算公式计算得出（CAPA Strategies，2024年9月）。
