Genome sequence of the novel Bradyrhizobium strain isolated from Aeschynomene americana. Bradyrhizobium sp. DOA9

Aeschynomene americana is a leguminous plant originated in North America, Caribbean, Mesoamerica and South America. This species is widely used as a green manure or pasture plant throughout the tropical world. In the previous study, we isolated bacteria from the nodules of A. americana and examined the genetic and symbiotic diversity of the isolates. One of the isolates, Bradyrhizobium strain DOA9, exhibited a unique host specificity divergent from those of other Aeschynomene symbionts such as Bradyrhizobium sp. BTAi1 and ORS285. In this study, we determined the genome sequence of DOA9 as the first step towards a functional analysis of the symbiotic determinants in this strain.
