Plants of the World Online (POWO) is a global plant species database established by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew in 2017. This database curates over 1.446 million global plant names, 530,800 detailed descriptions and 509,900 images, covering information such as plant taxonomy, distribution, ecology and conservation status. It initially focused on the tropical flora of Africa, with the goal of providing comprehensive plant information resources for botanical research, ecological conservation and public education.
