There are several considerations for mapping geographic areas, including:</p><ul><li>Focus on places most important for living resources (fish, wildlife and people);</li><li>Identify areas to focus restoration and conservation activities;</li><li>Consider threats from land and climate change; and</li><li>Identify areas where multiple partners are already working or consider priorities.</li></ul><p style="background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255); border:0px solid currentcolor; box-sizing:border-box; color:rgb(74, 74, 74); font-family:"Avenir Next", Avenir, "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif; font-size:16px; font-style:normal; font-variant-caps:normal; font-variant-ligatures:normal; font-weight:400; letter-spacing:normal; margin:0px 0px 1rem; text-align:start; text-decoration-color:initial; text-decoration-style:initial; text-indent:0px; text-transform:none; word-spacing:0px;">Data was assembled from a wide variety of sources and reclassified according to values for restoration based on GIT-specific criteria. Data layers were reclassified into 30-m grids and combined into composite restoration suitability rankings. The 30-meter grids were aggregated to USGS HUC-12 boundaries to give a composite watershed restoration score.
