We evaluated the functional impact of enhanced phoP expression on the development of tuberculous meningitis, using Zebrafish-Mycobacterium marinum model. Blue fluorescent M. marinum strains, with (TMm) and without (WMm) increased expression of phoP of M. tuberculosis, were constructed and used to infect zebrafish. The effects of TMm and WMm on the zebrafish were then assessed and compared.
