The updated database includes 43,050 records from 6,679 earthquakes ranging in magnitude from 4.0 to 8.8, recorded at 530 stations between 1985 and 2024.
The seismic station network provides acceptable coverage across the country, with a high percentage of sites (nearly 45% of station flatfile) having measured shear wave velocity data. In sites without direct Vs30 measurements, the Vs30 values were inferred using a three-proxy approach, the P-wave seismogram method shows high predictive capacity with relatively low uncertainty.
The distance metrics were computed using rupture models available in literature or simulated from metadata information for each event. We have also estimated distances based on point- and finite-fault source models. In particular, the dataset also provides orientation-independent horizontal spectra and the azimuth for the RotD100 orientation-independent horizontal spectra.
The datasets are presented in a flatfile format, which includes comprehensive metadata about the records, events, and stations. This extensive database supports a wide range of earthquake engineering applications and research, including structural design, seismic hazard assessment, ground motion modeling, and earthquake loss estimation.
