The dataset includes rainfall accumulation for the August 1963 and July 2016 storm in Hai River basin and historical flood records for the July 1939 storm. The second dataset includes all the upper tail ratios and physiographic attributes of the drainage basins. The datasets are as support for the paper entitled "The upper tail of flood peaks over China: hydrology, hydrometeorology, and hydroclimatology". <br>
