This dataset contains the qualitative research data (interview transcripts and field notes) supporting the research paper titled "Buffalo Fighting in Toraja, Indonesia: A New Form of Gambling behind Funeral Culture". The data explores the phenomenon of buffalo fighting as a form of gambling embedded within the funeral traditions of the Toraja community. For ethical reasons and to maintain informant confidentiality, all personal identities and sensitive information within this dataset have been strictly anonymized.
