Comprehensive analysis of mutations in radioresistant Escherichia coli

Elucidating the mechanisms of radioresistance in highly radioresistant organisms will provide valuable insights into the adaptation of organisms to diverse environments, evolution, and biological diversity. The goal of this project is to elucidate the genetic basis of enhanced radioresistance in organisms by analyzing the whole-genome sequences of radioresistant E. coli evolved through adaptive evolution experiments using gamma radiation as the selection pressure. The findings from this study are expected to contribute to our understanding of the evolution of biological defense mechanisms against stress.
