Hydroxyproline (trans-4-Hydroxy-L-proline) is an abundant amino acid in mammalian tissue, yet little is known about how its prescence effects gene expression. This study aimed to analyze the effects of hydroxyproline on gene expression in THP-1 cells stimulated with IFN-γ, using RNA-seq. Overall design: RNA-seq analysis was perfromed on samples from THP-1 cells treated for 72 hours with a vehicle control alone, vehicle and IFN-γ (50 ng/ml), or hydroxyproline (40 mM) and IFN-γ were compared. Three replicates per condition were included. Differential gene expression analysis was performed.
