资源简介:
This collection comprises Geophysics and GIS Data from geophysical survey work on land at Clumber Park, Nottinghamshire. The geophysical survey undertaken by Wessex Archaeology's in-house geophysics team and was conducted between 20 - 21 January 2026. Field conditions at the time of the survey consisted of survey areas of flat wet pasture with inclement weather throughout the period of survey. An overall coverage of 7.7 hectares was achieved. The gradiometer survey has not confidently identified features likely to be associated with archaeological remains. A possible ditch of unknown archaeological origin has been identified in the north-west of the site, however, the anomaly also corresponds with the edge of a modern access track leading onto site and is likely related to it as a result. Across the site, several areas of increased magnetic response were detected, which are all likely to be related to modern activity. In the north-east, the extant footpath has been identified, and in Area B, the footprint of cricket crease has also been identified. A large number of ferrous points were detected across the site, particularly in the northern half. This interference is likely to be related to the area's use as a campsite. Two modern services were detected in the south-west of the site.
