Size 10 in. by 6 in.; foll. 156. Twenty eight lines in a page. A Commentary (by قوله ... قلت ) on the mystic work, المواقف of Muḥammad b. ‘Abd al-jabbâr النُّفرى 1 (d. A. H. 354), evidently by ‘AFÎF AL-DÎN TILIMSÂNÎ (d. A.H. 690). See Ḥ. Kh. vi. 235, Cat. Bodl. i. 59, 60, and also 97. Cf. Cat. Bodl. ii. 230, and Nafaḥât al-Uns, ed. Lees, p. ٦٥٩. Begins, after the Ḥamdalah: قال الشيخ الفردانى و العارف الربانى محمد بن عبدالجبار النُّفرى رضى الله عنّا به و جعلنا و اياه من النور المحمدى فى اعزّ جنابه موقف العِزّ اوقفنى فى العِزّ قوله اوقفنى معناه ايقظ قابليتى لتلقى التجلى قوله فى العز قلت اى فى شهود العِزّ الخ There are seventy-three ‘’stations,’’ a list of which is given on the title-page. The second is inscribed موقف القرب , the third ﻣ الكبريآء , the fourth ﻣ انت معنى الكون, etc. Clearly written. Transcribed by Zain b. ‘Abdallah Muḳaibil, from a correct copy, which had been taken from that of the author, and had passed through the hands of several learned Shaikhs. Dated Sunday, 14th Jum. I., 1087. There follows a short treatise by ZARRÛḲ (Aḥmad Burnusî, d. A.H. 899), which had been added in the original copy by Sâlim, one of the Shaikhs aforesaid. It bears chiefly on the meaning of the word وجود. Begins: و بعد يا سيدى حققنا الله و اياكم بقضيّة الوجود ... فانه قد وصل كتابكم مشتملاً على نطق وجودكم الخ To this is added an extract from IBN ‘ARABÎ’S المشاهد , 1 inscribed من باب الاشتراك فى التقدير للشيخ الاكبر من المشاهد . It begins : و قال يشاهد ذات الحق . Worm-eaten towards the end.   1 So in this MS. (Nufarî ?). The name is differently spelt, viz., النُّفَزى (Al-Noffazî) in Cat.
