Maps of Annual Energy Production (AEP) and Levelised Cost of Electricity (LCOE) for offshore wind generation in the Caribbean Sea-Colombia

This dataset contains a total of 39 Geotifs in EPSG:4326 and can easily be opened with GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS. These maps are the result of the spatial explicit assessment of Annual Energy Production (AEP) and Levelised Cost of Electricity (LCOE) of offshore wind generation in the Caribbean Sea in Colombia. Three scenarios with different levels of restrictions and potential offshore activity co-existence were formulated and the available area per scenario was estimated. In terms of spatial constraints, Scenario 1 is the least restrictive, Scenario 2 has a moderate level of restriction and Scenario 3 is highly restrictive. For AEP, three maps are presented, each corresponding to a different area availability scenario. For LCOE, 36 maps are generated based on a sensitivity analysis of discount rate (DR-%) and lifetime (LT-years) for each scenario. The methodology for generating the maps is explained in the paper. The resolution of all maps is 0.022° per pixel. Data supporting the findings of this study come from publicly available sources and are referenced in Table 1 and Appendix of the paper.
