Leaf shape can affect the plantlet development in sesame. We performed morphological and genetic analysis of a mutant cl1 (cl) with curly leaf and indehiscent capsule traits. The leaf curling trait was controlled by a regressive gene (Sicl1). To identification of the gene, a cross-population association mapping and genomic variants screening method was used.
