This project provides supporting code and data for the paper "Functional recovery-based design performance objectives: selection and evaluation". The paper describes methods for defining and evaluating seismic design objectives that target post-earthquake functional recovery of buildings.
The enclosed code and data contains an end-to-end pipeline for lifetime functional recovery performance assessment, applied for the two commercial office archetype buildings developed as part of the case studies in the paper. Scripts to generate figures from the paper are also provided, such as correlation plots between different lifetime risk metrics and the efficacy of user-defined recovery-based checking procedures.
This project enables replication of the paper's results and reuse of the methodology to evaluate recovery-based objectives for other building types and locations. The code can be adapted to study different performance objectives and building typologies. The methods are relevant for researchers and engineers involved in developing building code provisions or project-specific recovery-based design applications.
