Ethnographic Interviews: U.S. Army and Use of Psychopharmaceuticals in Iraq and Afghanistan Wars

This data set draws from ethnographic fieldwork examining the use of psychopharmaceuticals by the US Army in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Fieldwork included semi-structured interviews, ethnographic observation at military healthcare conferences and clinical trainings, and archival research. This record focuses on the semi-structured interviews conducted with Army personnel and veterans that were prescribed, used, and/or witnessed the use of psychopharmaceuticals while deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Due to the sensitive nature of the topic, the interview transcripts are not made publicly available. The record includes only aggregate data and qualitative codes.
