Applying portable X-Ray Fluorescence (pXRF) to provenance of colonial ceramics: comparative case studies from North Africa and the Iberian peninsula

This study presents new chemical and mineralogical analyses of Modern Era pottery from key archaeological sites in North Africa and the Iberian Peninsula. By employing archaeometric techniques, specifically portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF), the research aims to determine the provenance of these ceramics and to explore the commercial dynamics, production techniques, and sociocultural aspects related to these colonial artifacts.
