Temporal dynamics of gut microbiota in red and black caribbean sea urchins

The work we will develop aimed to contribute to a better understanding of how temporal environmental changes affect the community structure of the gut microbiota in the long-spined sea urchin Diadema antillarum and the red sea urchin Echinometra lucunter. The specific objectives of this study are to characterize the gut microbiota of each sea urchin species during the summer season, compare the gut microbiota between both species during summer, and evaluate seasonal dynamics of the microbial community by comparing the composition of gut microbiota between summer and winter.
