FAIRsharing record for: Metadata Schema for the Persistent Identification of Instruments (1.0)

This FAIRsharing record describes: The Research Data Alliance (RDA) endorsed Persistent Identification of Instruments Working Group (PIDINST WG) Metadata Schema 1.0 provides community-driven solutions for publishing globally unique identifications of active instruments used in research sciences. The PIDINST Schema provides an ability to link active instruments (instance) with an instrument type to the broader context in which the instrument operates, including generated data types, other instruments and platforms, people and manufacturers, etc., to enhanced interpretation of generated instrument data. Version 1.0 of the schema has been endorsement as a RDA recommendation.
