To establish a biosecurity-focused database for Australia, we recently began the revision of ophiostomatalean specimens lodged in Australian plant pathogen reference collections. A whole genome sequencing approach allowed for robust multi-locus sequence extraction in order to perform taxonomic assessment. These genomic resources are valuable to future research efforts relating to Ophiostoma, and in establishing biosecurity-focused databases.
