This data consists of an ArcGIS Pro shapefile and MATLAB live script. The shapefile includes polygon outlines of the bases of Martian volcanoes. The MATLAB live script uses this shapefile to automatically calculate morphometric parameters for each Martian volcano. The numerical MATLAB script results can be found in the shapefile's attribute table. These files are intended to be used together; however, the script can also compute morphometric parameters on independently drawn Martian volcano base polygons. The MATLAB script extracts mid-latitude (65°N to 65°S) topographic information from the 200 m/px MGS MOLA - MEX HRSC Blended Global DEM, Fergason et al. (2018). The elevation data used for measuring north pole (65°N to 90°N) and south pole (65°S to 90°S) volcanoes were sourced from the 256 deg/px MGS MOLA polar DEMs (Neumann et al., 2003). The tracings within the ArcGIS Pro shapefile were completed using the 463 m/px MGS MOLA Global Color Shaded Relief map from Astrogeology (2003) and the Global CTX Mosaic of Mars from Dickson et al. (2024).This data is supplemental to the in-review paper: A Global Morphometric Analysis of Volcanic Edifices on Mars, Dale and Soldati (2026).
