REST/NRSF governs the expression of dense-core vesicle gliosecretion in astrocytes

Thirty μm thick sections of the human temporal cortex stained with the nuclear marker DAPI (blue), REST (green), and the cytoplasmic astrocyte marker GFAP (red). In the cells positive for GFAP the labeling for REST is quite variable - strong and concentrated in the nucleus in many cases, low or unappreciable in many others.
