No-till reseeding, a critical practice of grassland restoration, can improve plant productivity and forage quality in degraded grasslands. However, the reduction in soil fertility and beneficial soil microbes is a major factor limiting the establishment of reseeded plant species in degraded grasslands. To uncover the effects of the inoculation of plant symbiotic microbes (arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and rhizobia) and fertilization on biomass production and plant community structure in reseeded grasslands, a microcosm experiment was carried out using <em>Medicago falcate</em>, <em>Leymus chinensis</em> and <em>Artemisia frigida </em>as representative plants species of different functional groups.
