Wheat blast is caused by a fungus that belongs to Magnaporthe oryzae species. We isolated RNA from wheat leaf blades harvested from the infected wheat fields of Bangladesh in March, 2016, and obtained sequence data using RNA-seq and Illumina sequencing technology. Our field-pathogenomics approach identified M. oryzae in symptomatic samples. Data generated from this project will be freely available to public.
