Dataset for Reviewing Research efforts and gaps in the assessment of forest system resilience

This dataset was developed as part of a scoping review aimed at investigating how the Seven Principles of Resilience (7PsR) have been applied in the assessment of forest resilience across engineering, ecological, and social-ecological resilience concepts. The seven principles include: (1) maintain diversity and redundancy, (2) manage connectivity, (3) manage slow variables and feedbacks, (4) foster complex adaptive systems thinking, (5) encourage learning, (6) broaden participation, and (7) promote polycentric governance. Following the PRISMA-ScR guidelines, a systematic search was conducted in the Web of Science database using keyword combinations related to resilience, forests, and ecosystem services. The initial records were screened through a structured multi-step process that included title, abstract, and full-text review. Studies were included based on their reference to one or more of the 7PsR principles, associated quantifiable criteria, resilience concepts, and evaluation methods. This dataset provides a transparent foundation for understanding how resilience principles are conceptualised and operationalised in forest-related research.
