In this study, we revisited the paddy soil studies using metatranscriptomics to identify distinct temperature-sensitive mechanisms involved inanaerobic paddy soil slurries with rice straw as carbon source. The objectives were: (1) toinvestigate the structure and dynamics of functional microbial community during thedecomposition of rice straw; (2) to determine the responses of different microbial groupsinvolved in syntrophic acetate, propionate, butyrate oxidation and methane metabolism withdifferent temperatures.
