Spinacia oleracea cv. Viroflay - PacBio Genome Reference Sequence. Spinacia oleracea cultivar:Viroflay

The Spinacia oleracea cultivar Viroflay was utilized for whole genome sequencing with Pacific Biosciences for development of a high-quality genome reference sequence. The same source was also used for whole genome sequencing with Illumina HiSeq through BGI to develop a short-read assembly. The two assemblies allowed a simultaneous comparison of assemblies derived from long-read and short-read technologies on the same source.
