Data of metal-assisted electrochemical exfoliation of boron.The above data represents the structure changes in boron after electrochemical exfoliation via the metal-assisted process. For the process were utilised different currents (0.1, 0.5, 1 A) with a constant voltage of 30 V. The utilised electrolytes were 1M LiCl in DMSO and 1M Na2SO4 in water. The main objective of the research is to fabricate single or few-layered sheets of boron called borophene.The Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM; SAED) images were collected via FEI Tecnai G2 F20 at 200 kV. The XRD data were collected via AERIS PANalytical X-ray diffractometer with Cu-Kα. The Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) images were gathered via AFM MultiMode 8 (Bruker). The images of TEM were processed in DigitalMicrograph software and AFM images were processed in NanoScope Analysis software.
