E3SM model data: Quantifying the Southern Ocean pCO2 sampling error with synthetic observations from an ocean model

This data set belongs to "Quantifying the Southern Ocean pCO2 sampling error with synthetic observations from an ocean model" by Cara Nissen, Alison Gray, Nicole Lovenduski, Mathew Maltrud and LeAnn Conlon (in preparation). Contact for data set: c.nissen@uva.nl The data provided here are post-processed from the raw model output. The raw data can be requested from the contact person. Here, we provide the synthetic pCO2 observations from E3SM that were co-located with SOCAT and BGC Argo-pH (floats_2014_2023_colocated_with_SOCAT_or_bgcArgo-pH_south_of_40S.zip), as well as the recreated gridded pCO2 datasets for 2014-2023 (filenames starting with Synthetic_dataset_*). We also provide the modeled monthly pCO2 fields, the sub-monthly pCO2 range, and the sub-grid cell variability for a regular 1°x1° grid (E3SM_2014_2023_regridded_pCO2.zip), as well as the JRA wind data extracted at SOCAT or BGC Argo-pH locations (JRAv1.5_2014_2015_south_of_40S_at_SOCAT_or_BGC_Argo_pH.zip).
