Metatranscriptome analysis for rhizosphere soil from maize roots

Root exudates have been increasingly reagarded as the key to affect the soil microbial communties structure and composition. Root exudates consist of various of compunds including amino acids, hormones, organic acids and secondary metabolites and so on. These compounds can recruit specific microbes from the bulk soil to the near root soils, in the meantime, the microbes can also have specific function to benefit the host, for example digestion of the soil organic matter and solubilization of the iron that can be uptaken by host.
