Chlorocebus sabaeus kidney epithelial lines were infected with vaccinia virus (VACV) strain WR. The poly(A)+ fraction of the RNA isolated from the virus infected cells was reverse-transcribed into cDNA and sequenced using Pacific Biosciences RSII and Oxford Nanopore Technologies MinION platforms. The sequencing reads were mapped using GMAP and the genome was assembled by the Geneious programme suit.
