资源简介:
This dataset contains Multiple Opening Closing Net and Environmental Sensing System(s) (MOCNESS) instruments data collected aboard the R/V Point Sur cruise PS19-04 in the Gulf of Mexico from 2018-07-19 to 2018-08-01. The MOCNESS was deployed during the DEEPEND field program and collected data (e.g., pressure, temperature, salinity, water flow, volume filtered, horizontal and vertical velocity, latitude, and longitude) from several sensors while the instrument was in use. These data helped characterize the environment and assess the orientation and speed of the MOCNESS. The flow and net angle were used to calculate the volume of water filtered for each net. The dataset also includes trawl field data collected during this cruise and includes information on trawl ID/number, cruise name/number, types of gear used, station, sample, date, location (latitude and longitude), time, depth, temperature, salinity, the volume of water, net mesh size/units, and related comments. The overall purpose of the R/V Point Sur cruise PS19-04 led by chief scientist Dr. Tracey Sutton was to perform deep water sampling of in-situ seawater and associated fauna.
