Deep aquifer used as UGS in the south west of France Raw sequence reads

In a deep aquifer used for UGS, 17 formation waters were sampled, with sulfate concentrations ranging from 0.0219 to 0.1978 mM. We experimentally evaluated the effect of H2 on the evolution of two functional microbial groups, i.e. methanogens and sulfate reducers, belonging primarily to the families Methanobacteriaceae and Methanothermobacteriaceae and the genera Desulfovibrio, Thermodesulfovibrio and Desulforamulus. The effects of microbial activities on stored gas and water physico-chemistry, particularly pH, were also studied.
