Labium majus abscess in the presence of the novel anaerobic Lawsonella clevelandensis: a first report. Lawsonella clevelandensis Case Report

We present the case of a female patient who presented with a labium majus abscess caused by the novel fastidious microorganism Lawsonella clevelandensis. Diagnosis was confirmed by whole gene sequencing and the treatment included outpatient surgical incision and abscess drainage. We include a short literature review as well as the available genome sequences of this emerging pathogen.
