Interview of Robert C. Thrasher, the Adjutant General for the California National Guard (CNG), about the role and resources of the CNG; its preparedness to respond to a major civil disturbance; its pre-planning activities with regard to the Los Angeles civil disturbance; the interface between the CNG and other law enforcement agencies; the activities of the CNG during the Los Angeles disturbance; and the effect of "federalization" on CNG troops, 1992 June 24. PART OF SERIES: After the violence had subsided, the Webster Commission met of a variety of public officials, law enforcement personnel, activists, and community leaders to discuss the rioting, its root causes, and the adequacy of the LAPD's response.
