VARIABILITY OF THE IRON LINE COMPLEX IN NGC5506

We propose repeated observations with XMMNewton of the bright Seyfert galaxyNGC 5506 which exhibits a complex Fe line emission profile, with at least twocomponents, as revealed by previous XMMNewton AO1 observations. The source isalso known to be highly variable on timescales of few days from extensive RXTEmonitoring. The main goal of the proposed observations is to assess the locationand physical state of the emitting media by measuring their profiles and EWs indifferent intensity states of the continuum.
