Dataset on research progress of chemical composition, pharmacological mechanism and clinical application of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb

This dataset systematically organizes and summarizes the information on the chemical components isolated and identified from Polygonum multiflorum, covering stilbenes, anthraquinones, flavonoids, chromones, flavonols, phospholipids, and other types of compounds.The content of the dataset mainly consists of two parts: First, compound structure information, presented in PPT format, including the chemical structure formulas of 126 representative compounds. Second, a detailed list of compounds, organized in Word tables, divided into 7 tables, respectively recording stilbenes , anthraquinones, flavonoids, flavonols and chromones, phospholipids, and other types of compounds. Each entry includes the compound number, Chinese name, English name, molecular formula, and reference number.The construction process of the dataset includes: ① Retrieving research literature on the chemical components of Polygonum multiflorum from databases such as CNKI, PubMed, and Web of Science from 1980 to 2026; ② Extracting compound information reported in the literature, including names, structures, molecular formulas, and literature sources; ③ Merging and standardizing different names of the same compound; ④ Redrawing the structure formulas and annotating the substituents; ⑤ Classifying the information into tables and cross-checking to ensure uniqueness and accuracy. The structure formulas were drawn using ChemDraw software, and the table data was organized using Microsoft Excel and Word. All data are derived from peer-reviewed literature that has been publicly published and have not been experimentally verified.
