Phenological responses to nitrogen enrichment regulate biomass accumulation of functional groups in an alpine meadow

Phenology is life-cycle events mediated by seasonal climate change, and its shift might play an important role in regulating biomass production. However, how vegetative and reproductive phenology responses to nitrogen (N) enrichment and precipitation changes, and how these responses further affect the biomass of functional groups and communities remain unclear. Thus, we conducted an experiment on N addition and precipitation changes for three consecutive years (2021-2023), in which we tracked vegetative and reproductive phenology of 55 species to determine the effects of shifts in phenological timing on biomass in an alpine meadow on the eastern Tibetan Plateau.
