Agropyron Gaertn. is an important pasture resource. It plays an important role in the ecological restoration. Chloroplast genomes are simpler in structure than nuclear genomes and are highly conserved. Chloroplast genomes are inherited from maternal parents and are not disturbed by nuclear genome recombination. In this study, we sequenced the complete chloroplast genomes from five Agropyron species using the Illumina NovaSeq platform followed by de novo assembly. The five chloroplast genomes exhibit a typical quadripartite structure with conserved genome arrangement and, structure. The five Agropyron species are A. cristatum L. Geartn.* A. desertorum Fisch. Schult., A. desertorum, A. desertorum Fisch. Schult. cv. Nordan, A. michnoi Roshev., A. mongolicum Keng.
