CarImages Rights Manifest: 22,078 rights-resolved Creative Commons car photographs

A rights-resolved index of 22,078 Creative Commons and public-domain photographs of cars sourced from Wikimedia Commons. For each photograph the dataset records the source, the licence, and — the point of the exercise — the licence resolved into three machine-readable obligations: whether attribution is required, whether ShareAlike applies, and whether derivatives are permitted. It also records the photographer, a ready-to-use credit string, SHA-256 and 64-bit perceptual hashes, intrinsic dimensions and a frame-level dominant colour. Wikimedia Commons holds these photographs but records licensing as wiki templates in inconsistent forms, which makes an ordinary reuse question — "which of these may I use commercially without a copyleft obligation?" — impractical to answer at scale. This dataset answers it: 4,866 photographs carry no attribution requirement, 5,634 require attribution only, and 11,578 additionally carry ShareAlike. None carry NoDerivatives, and none require attribution without recording an author. The dataset contains no images. It is metadata and URLs only, so no ShareAlike obligation propagates to users of this file. The photographs themselves each remain under the licence recorded in their row. The README documents the sampling frame honestly, including rejection counts and the caveat that contributor concentration is extreme.
