Incidence of C-fibre responses by sub-type in human sural nerve.

The collective population of unmyelinated axons within individual nerve fascicles was characterized by a period of electrical stimulation at 2 Hz (see Figure 4). C-fibre responses were classified as either Type A or B (see Results). The incidence of each type of response is shown as a function of the nerve of origin (Nerve ID). The values in parentheses indicate the incidence of C-fibre responses to GABA (30 µM).
