Modulation of Arabidopsis defences against Botrytis cinerea by green leaf volatiles

Arabidopsis thaliana (Col-0) 5-week-old plants (11 h day) were treated with (Z)-3-hexenol, (Z)-3-hexen-1-yl acetate, (E)-2-hexenal, or methanol (control) for 24 hours, followed by inoculation with Botrytis cinerea (B05.10) spores in 1/2 PDB medium. Two 5 µL droplets were placed on each side of the midrib of the 8th true rosette leaf. Leaves were collected at 0, 1, 2, and 3 days post inoculation. Five plants (biological replicates) were used per treatment per timepoint.
