Journalist Safety in Ethiopia, 1992–2024
收藏资源简介:
This dataset compiles publicly documented incidents affecting journalists in Ethiopia between 1992 and 2024. Each record represents a verified coercive action—such as arrest, prosecution, attack, abduction, harassment, killing, exile, licensing restriction, or outlet closure—gleaned from archival sources including the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), Reporters Sans Frontières (RSF), and IFEX. Records were de-duplicated across sources, normalized by date and outlet, and coded to a predeclared typology. The resulting corpus enables longitudinal analysis of risk trends across two political eras (EPRDF 1992–2018 and Prosperity Party 2019–2024). The dataset underpins the paper Journalist Safety in Ethiopia (1992–2024):Counting Coercion: Incidents, Experiences, and a Four-Coordinate Framework for Journalist Risk
