Genome drafts of Gamma1 and Gamma3 symbiont of Olavius algarvensis

Draft genomes of the Gamma1 and Gamma3 sulfur-oxidizing symbionts of the gutless oligochaete host Olavius algarvensis were assembled and binned from Illumina metagenomes, produced from single host specimens. Hosts were collected from the field, and used for total DNA extraction. Illumina TruSeq libraries were prepared from total DNA, and paired-end sequenced. Reads were cleaned, filtered, error-corrected and de novo assembled using SPAdes. Genomes were binned using Metawatt. The Gamma1 genome was binned from host specimen G2 (JGI/IMG accession 1021962, sample ID: MG15, alternative specimen ID: OalgB2SA). The Gamma3 genome was binned from host specimen A3 (JGI/IMG accession: 1021956, sample ID: MG21, alternative specimen ID: OalgA3SA).
