This dataset contains high-throughput sequencing data of rhizosphere bacteria and fungi associated with Chinese yam (Dioscorea opposita Thunb.), a tuber crop with both medicinal and edible values. The tested samples were collected from Qinhuai Farm, Dafeng Town, Wuzhi County, Henan Province, China. Two treatment plots were established in the experiment: a healthy plot (H), which was a field where Chinese yam was planted for the first time without any obvious disease symptoms; and a diseased plot (D), which was a field with widespread diseases after long-term continuous cropping of Chinese yam. In this study, 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing technology was employed to characterize the structural composition of rhizosphere bacterial communities, while internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequencing technology was used to analyze the community composition of rhizosphere fungi.
