Possibly a documentary entitled "Beneath the sea" (for Assignment America) on oceanography based on the documentary “New frontier” by the Hancock Foundation, 1949-1953. The film documents the scientific operations on board Velero IV including water sampling, dredging, sludge sampling, mud coring, benthograph use in photography, underwater diving in a kelp forest.
