Previous studies have shown that heat stress can be detrimental during reproduction development due to the damage caused to plant organs and cellular structures. Thus, understanding the impact of heatwaves on crops and particularly during reproductive stages is essential to the development of varieties that can withstand these periods of elevated temperatures. Therefore, this study aims to provide insights into the impact of a future warmer climate on the important oil crop species B. napus during its reproductive stages through studying the transcriptomic and metabolomic responses under heatwaves conditions.
